Drinking Soundtrack of The Day

I have been doing the Drinking Soundtrack of The Week for a while, and more recently focusing (tongue in cheek) on the coming apocalypse. I really think the only interesting thing to come out of all the apocalypse discussions on the social media pages is how many different misspellings there are for "Apocalypse" but who knows... on December 21st I may be proved wrong.
Today is World Aids Day (see the previous post for today for more info) and while getting some info for that post I was thinking of the continent of Africa which is truly suffering from that disease.  It also made me think of Darfur, where a different fight continues, which made me think of Syria where the fighting is again happening, or Gaza... the list goes on and on and it influenced my search for the DSOTW choice.

A different type of Zombie Apocalypse is happening as we speak, The Cranberries sing about it in their song originally written about Ireland, but it's truth is universal.

Another head hangs lowly,
Child is slowly taken.
And the violence caused such silence,
Who are we mistaken?

But you see, it's not me, it's not my family.
In your head, in your head they are fighting,
With their tanks and their bombs,
And their bombs and their guns.
In your head, in your head, they are crying...

Another mother's breakin',
Heart is taking over.
When the violence causes silence,
We must be mistaken.

It's the same old theme since nineteen-sixteen.
In your head, in your head they're still fighting,
With their tanks and their bombs,
And their bombs and their guns.
In your head, in your head, they are dying...

In your head, in your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie,
Hey, hey, hey. What's in your head,
In your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie?

Stop the hate
Stop the violence
Stop the killing

In my world, we should drink until we can no longer scream,
or carry a stick,
or load a weapon,
or even think of building a bomb.

The Drinking Soundtrack of The Week returns to the Apocalypse tomorrow with "Highway to Hell" - a great song to drink to.
